Super Simple Snacking

Hi friends! Today I wanted to share some of the foods that I am always reaching for and that are super easy to make when I’m extremely busy being the busy bee that I am! Some of these could work as apart of a meal or just a snack depending on what you want it to be.  Let me know if you’ve had any of these or decide to try any of them out!! Enjoy!

Black Bean Burgers

Since I don’t eat meat on Fridays in Lent, these were an absolute lifesaver.  Normally I would be reaching for the mac and cheese but these work as a much healthier option.  Sometimes I cut them up and put them on a salad and other times I just eat them plain with some ketchup.  I definitely recommend these chipotle black bean burgers.  They are my favorite!  Lent is over and I’m still eating them all the time!

Peanut Butter and Bananas with a sprinkle of chia seeds

I’m not sure how I stopped eating this combination for so long because it’s definitely one of the best.  I’m used to always reaching for ice cream at night but this definitely satisfies my sweet tooth and the chia seeds keep me feeling full so I don’t eat everything in sight.  I like to have this as a snack throughout the day or sometimes at night for something a little sweeter.   Bananas are soo inexpensive for the college budget too! (Win, Win!)

Avo Toast & PB Toast

Avocado Toast

This has been the new thing to post Instagram pictures of for the last couple years or so and after recently trying it, I can see why!  It’s not difficult to make at home so you can easily have a quick snack that actually makes you feel full!  My favorite place to shop for avocados is Aldi’s because you can definitely score a good deal on these and still get your favorite food!  I also like to sometimes switch it up and throw some peanut butter and chia seeds on instead.  It just depends what I’m feeling like in the morning.

If you have any other quick and easy healthy options, let me know in the comments, I need all the help I can get because this is Day 1 of eating healthy for me!

My Yoga Practice

Hey friends! Today I wanted to share with you all, my yoga practice and how it fits into my life.  I mentioned in my last post that I recently started practicing on my own and that motivated me the most.  I’m going to share with you some of my yoga favorites today.

Yoga is seriously the best because you can flow to pretty much any kind of music that fits your mood.  I used to be under the impression that it had to be slow and music that was relaxing.  Sometimes it is but other days I feel like listening to rap, alternative or even seasonal music, like Christmas music!  If I feel like slowly stretching, then I might choose some calmer music.  I usually put together a playlist on my spotify before I practice and then change it as I’m moving to whatever I feel like listening to.

Yoga Apparel

Yoga leggings.  Tank tops.  Long sleeves. Everything else that might even fit into the category of yoga clothing.  There are so many brands constantly advertising their clothing through ambassadors and the social media community.  Most recently, I feel as if I have seen the most advertisement from Alo Yoga.  I still have yet to try this brand, since their clothing does not fit into my price range so I’ve opted for some less expensive options.  TJ Maxx is one of the first places that I will go to when I am looking for some new yoga clothing.  I recently found a black long sleeve shirt with cut outs in the front and back that look like I could have gotten it from Alo Yoga.  The second place that I will go to is Lululemon.  I frequently find leggings and shirts on clearance for almost half price coming out to around $40-50 each which is definitely a good deal considering the quality of these products has been absolutely phenomenal for me.

Yoga Mat

This past Christmas, I asked for a manduka yoga mat.  I’ve heard a lot of great things about different brands but decided that the Manduka ProLite Yoga Mat was the best option for me.  I’m not sure of my feelings on this yet but I will be sure to keep you all updated!

I hope you all enjoyed this post on my Yoga experience so far.  If you have any questions or would like to know more about my practice, let me know!!
