Latest Drugstore Makeup Finds

Hi everyone! Lately, I have decided to try some new products from cvs that my sister and I picked up and I’m letting you know here whether or not I think they’re worth the purchase.  We usually stick to drugstore products rather than higher-end products because neither of us really have the budget to spend $30 on just one product.  Here is what I was and was not a fan of!

Wet n Wild Dewy Face Primer

I really like this because not only can it be worn under foundation but you can also wear it alone.  It gives a nice tinted glow to the skin when worn alone, which I’m always looking for since I am extremely pale!  I did notice that when I wore it with foundation, my foundation stayed on longer and for the whole day which is always necessary when I’m running from class to work after.

Wet n Wild Makeup Stick Highlighter

Shade for this was When the Nude Strikes

I was not a fan of this highlighter.  From my opinion, it highlighted blemishes on my face and didn’t blend too well into the foundation.  I think that there are a lot of other highlighter options in the same price range that I would prefer over this.  I definitely would still pick my NYX Liquid Highlighter over this option.

I have been hearing for a while that this is a good drugstore concealer that is comparable to Tarte Shape Tape but not necessarily a dupe for it.  I went ahead and bought it in the shade Classic Ivory.  It still seems a tad bit dark for me but it still works better than my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer that I was previously using.  The only complaint that I have about this line is that it only has eight shades.  There is obviously room for improvement in this in developing more shades so that this line can be available for everyone.

A Sunday Full of Chambray

Hi Friends!! Happy Sunday! I’m using this Sunday morning and afternoon to work on some homework and blog posts but sadly have to work tonight.  If you follow my Instagram account, you probably saw on my story that I was trying to decide which chambray dress to get from J Crew Factory.  I decided to get this one.  It’s also under $50 which is a great option for this Spring if you’re looking for a dress that can be dressed up or worn casually! I found some other under $50 chambray pieces and decided to share them with y’all today!

Chambray Shorts

These would be so fun for the Summer time.  They can definitely go with so much and seem like a good length for everyone that aren’t too short or too long!

Chambray Dress (with ruffle tie sleeves!!)

This is the dress that I ordered and it comes in tomorrow!!! I am so excited.  I have been considering wearing it for Easter but I am not completely sure yet.  Stay tuned for a post all about this chambray dress soon.

Off-the Shoulder Top

At first, I didn’t really feel like this was my style but I think this could be really cute for Summer!  I would probably pair this with white shorts or jeans.  Super cute and easy look!

Drawstring Chambray Pants

I’ve never had pants that are this style but I think that they can be paired with a dressed up or more of a casual outfit!

Hope you all enjoyed this post.  I’m always looking for more outfit options so let me know in the comments if you have any chambray pieces that you love!!

Spring Wishlist

Hey friends!  Today I wanted to share with you some items that I have been looking at for this upcoming Spring.  I am extremely picky when it comes to buying new clothes though.  I usually like to buy things in person and if it doesn’t fit just the way I want it to then I’m probably not going to get it.  Here are some items that I’ve been thinking about for a while so if I see them in store, I am probably going to buy them!

Wrap Dress

I feel like these are so cute for Spring.  They are fitted but flowy all in one.  This coral color spices it up since I have typically seen only black wrap dresses recently.

Gingham One Piece Swimsuit

Gingham and a one piece altogether is awesome! I bought a couple one pieces last summer but I’m excited to wear them even more throughout this upcoming Spring and Summer.

Jack Rogers Lauren Sandals

I love the Lauren style of Jack Rogers and I feel like white would be a good staple piece for the summer so these are for sure on my wish list.  They can be dressed up or down so super versatile!

Kate Spade Lilac Purse

I am obsessed with lavender for Spring.  I feel like it’s such a fun color and perfect for Easter time.  I need this purse in my life!

Fun Floral Dresses

I can already tell that floral pieces are going to be a fun staple for me this Spring/Summer.  I have been looking for an Easter dress and this one is definitely a cute possibility!

What are y’all looking into buying for this Spring? Let me know in the comments!

Fashion Guide: Winter to Spring

When it comes to transitioning from one season to the next, I don’t have a huge selection of transitional pieces but I sat down and brainstormed some of my favorite ideas for y’all!

My first tip in transitioning would be to wear lighter colors.  I am a big fan of bright clothing and light colors so Spring and Summer are definitely the time to begin wearing them!Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

Secondly, layering is so important when you are in between seasons.  It’s usually pretty cool in the morning and then it warms up so you want to make sure that you’re prepared for the whole day if you’re not going to be home at all during the day.  A short sleeve shirt or long sleeve shirt with a cardigan over it is perfect and I’m still a fan of vests in the Spring because it doesn’t get too warm up here in Upstate New York. Processed with VSCO with m3 preset

Third, spice up your scarf collection!  There are a lot of cute dark patterned scarves but let’s save those for December and January.  Lilly Pulitzer scarves have patterns that are perfect for spring!  A scarf can keep you warm during the morning and then you can take it off later in the day when it gets warmer.  Any pastels are definitely my favorite for Spring.  I’m specifically obsessed with pastel purple this season!Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

Boat Shoes and Flats.  I really like wearing my Sperrys or a pair of flats during the spring time.  I feel like they’re a good in between shoe since you no longer have to brave the freezing cold so your toes won’t freeze but you’re not going to sweat to death in the heat of summer either!  Wearing either of these are some of my favorite options for Spring.  Sadly, I couldn’t wear my favorite Sperrys or nude flats for my little photoshoot because the wonderful upstate New York weather was 30 degrees and raining, which is not the best! Screen Shot 2018-02-12 at 11.36.57 AMScreen Shot 2018-02-12 at 11.35.41 AM

Outfit of the Day 1.14.2017 and Weekend Update!

Hey friends!!

Today I am going to share with you what I wore yesterday.  So quick update, I was out and about from 11am to 10pm last night and I wore this the entire time! I went from church to running errands to a movie date with my boyfriend later at night.  We saw Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and it was so amazing.  It went way past our expectations of what we thought that the movie was going to be. Sometimes I even fall asleep at the movie theater…but I was wide awake the entire time!

I wore this pink sweater (similar), a navy blue vest with my monogram necklace, my Hollister jeans and Sperry duck boots!

also special shoutout to my best friend Nicole for braving the freezing upstate weather to take my blog pictures for me!

Favorite New Shirt- on Clearance

As I was looking online to find the same shirt that my sister got for Christmas, I found it on clearance online for only $14!!! It comes in so many different colors too.  I am definitely going to buy it in a different color.  It is super comfortable (and soft!) and can be layered with a scarf or jacket or worn alone.

Definitely check it out if you’re looking for something you can style with different pieces, for an awesome price!!

Budget-Friendly Makeup Favorites

I was never much of a ‘makeup guru’ until these past couple of months.  I started to do my makeup at home and slowly got into watching YouTube videos and investigating drugstore products.  I can now say that I have drugstore favorites that I have tried out these past couple of months and I will definitely be buying them again.

Profusion Amber Eyes Makeup Palette

This Palette summed up in one word..AWESOME.  This is only $6.99 at target.  I bought it because I was looking for a palette with reds and pinks but I didn’t really want to break the bank trying out a new palette.  I ended up absolutely loving this and I’ve worn it during the day and the night.  The looks that you can get from this palette are endless! Head over to your local target and check out the profusion section if you’re looking for makeup that is not going to drain your bank account at the same time.

NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter

Another good product that I found at target for only $6.99.  I purchased this in the shade ‘moonbeam’ and it gives a fabulous glow.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-matte Liquid Lip

This line offers 10 different shades of matte colors.  I have tried ‘nudist’ and ‘milk and cookies’ so far.  I really like this because for only 7.49, it really does stay on all day long.

Let me know what your drugstore finds have been!
