Blogger Beauties, My Favorite Blogs to Keep Up With.

Hi Friends! I am back from a little bit of a break while finishing up school and honestly just being a little unmotivated to blog at the time.  Today I wanted to share a couple of my favorite bloggers that I like to read and keep up with.  Some of them focus on fashion while others are more of faith or food blogs.  There’s a little something out there for every corner of my life.

Real Liphe with Steph

First up is this girl who I have known since birth! She just recently started blogging and the recipes she blogs about actually make me want to go out right away and start making them.  You can follow her blog here or her Instagram

Manda Carpenter

I’ve been following along on her Instagram for a while and have loved all of her honest posts about everything from finding happiness to God and marriage.  Recently her and her husband became foster parents to two twins! She shares all the happy moments and the struggles and keeps it super real which I love.  Checkout her blog here!

Witty n Pretty

Number one, we share a name so that is pretty freakin cool!  She was pretty much the first blog that I found when I started blogging a while ago.  She shares her Dallas lifestyle, lots of budget friendly gift guides and her take on the mental health world.  I highly recommend checking her out!  Checkout her instagram here! Screen Shot 2018-05-06 at 10.06.49 AM

Easter Weekend and OOTD

Hey friends! Today I thought that I would share a little weekend update and what I wore this past weekend and what I have been up to. On Saturday, my cousin and I got together to have a little Easter photo shoot with all the rabbits that my cousin has because she breeds bunnies!  We took a ton of photos which you can see here.  If you live in the New York/Northern PA area and are looking for a pet rabbit, then she definitely has some of the best that you can find.  I was wearing a coral shirt but had to wear my jacket for most of the pictures because it was so windy out!  I am dog sitting a puppy named Fluffy so she joined us for a couple of the photos and I am seriously obsessed with her, she is only three months old!!

On Easter, I wore my chambray dress that I previously blogged about here!  I wore it with a long gold tassel necklace and some coral and light pink earrings that I have had for a while.  I am definitely going to wear this dress again soon.  I have been thinking of wearing a scarf with it soon since it’s still a bit chilly here in Upstate NY, considering it snowed last night!

Weekend Update

Hi friends! I am so excited to share with you what I have been up to this past weekend.  I decided to go visit my boyfriend.  He currently lives in Buffalo, NY because that is where he is going to school.  I try to go up about once a semester since that’s about all I have time for each semester but its always a fun time!

First up on Friday, we decided to grab a quick dinner from Wegmans.  After that, we spontaneously decided to go see a movie and ended up seeing Game Night.  We really liked this movie!  If you like funny movies with a little bit of action, then this one is for you!  We weren’t really expecting to do much on Friday since we were both finishing up all our work that we had and it was a long day.  On Saturday, we decided to go out looking for murals in Buffalo.  I found this really cute one in downtown Buffalo so I stopped to get some pictures in front of it!IMG_4607

Next up, we went shopping at the Niagara Shopping Outlets.  I didn’t get anything because I’m not buying any Spring/Summer clothes until I clean out my clothes that I already have but it was so fun to look at the new Spring clothes that stores are putting out.  Kate Spade was having a great sale and there were so many cute finds at Francesca’s Closet.  For dinner, we met up with some friends at 716 which is also in downtown Buffalo.  The food was so good, specifically their buffalo mac and cheese.  I would definitely recommend if you’re ever in Buffalo, New York.  It’s a pretty popular place to go especially if there is any type of sporting event on since they have one huge TV and then several TV screens all over the two floor restaurant showing everything that might be on that night.  After dinner, we absolutely needed ice cream, key word being need.  We decided to go to Hertel Ave Poutine and Cream because we saw that they had some very cool looking sundaes and shakes.  I got this nice shamrock shake that came with a cupcake on top (which my boyfriend ended up eating, thanks for that b).

On Sunday morning, we went to Paula’s Donuts and I’m not kidding when I say that these donuts were the best and worst thing to happen to me.  They were probably the best donuts that I have ever had but I had to take a nap after since the crash from the sugar high was too real.  Paula’s Donuts is another place that you need to go if you’re ever in the Buffalo area and they have three different locations! Hope you enjoyed my weekend update and I hope that you all are living your best lives.

Wednesday Wonders

Hey friends! Here’s a new series that I’m taking an attempt at that I am going to call Wednesday Wonders.  Basically every couple of Wednesdays, I am going to attempt my favorite products ranging from music to clothing and how much of a ‘wonder’ they are in my life.  I probably won’t get around to every Wednesday because it’s a busy time working, blogging, and being a college student but I will do my best.  So here we go with this Wednesday’s Wonders!

Nation of Two – Vance Joy

Vance Joy’s new album is LOVE.  I loved all of his songs before this but for some reason I just discovered his new album a couple days ago.  I have been listening to this everyday during my commute and it’s on repeat when I’m at home too.  Some of my personal song favorites are We’re going Home and Take Your Time.  If you like Vance Joy or any similar music, definitely give this a listen. IMG_5506

New Balance x J.Crew

I checked this out a couple weeks back on the Factory website but didn’t decide to buy anything.  I just checked back recently and now everything is under $25.  Cute workout wear that is under $25 is definitely a yes from me!  It also seems like there is a lot brighter colored items- perfect for Spring!  Here are some of my favorites.

Nike Women’s Flex 2017 RN Running Shoes

I just got these sneakers last week and they are by far the most comfortable sneakers that I have every purchased from Nike.  I am so picky when it comes to sneakers and the arch so it’s always difficult to find ones that I really like and are comfortable.  I have been wearing them whenever I can because I love them that much! I definitely recommend giving these a try if you’re picky like me and are looking for a good neutral pair of sneakers.

and that is all we have for this week!  Hope y’all enjoyed.  Let me know what your favorite products have been this week!

10 Things I LOVE

10 Things I Love

Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, I thought I would share 10 Things that I love.  Valentine’s Day is a time to show our love towards friends, family, and all the good things in life so here are 10 things that I love.

  1. Family Time

Typically, my family either likes to have a movie night or go out to dinner at our favorite restaurant in our little town.  We always share lots of laughs and it’s always nice to spend time with my family since we are normally busy with our regular everyday lives.

  1. Date nights with my bf!

My boyfriend goes to school 3 hours away from our hometown, where I go to college, but we always spend a lot of time together when he comes home from college.  We typically like to have date night on Thursdays where we get $5 chicken wings and then some froyo after! This is one of my favorite things to look forward to during the week when he is home.

  1. Books

I’m big on book reading.  Everything from fiction to history books, I read it all.  When I was younger, my parents used to have to take books away from me before we would go places because I was so addicted (LOL). Anyway, this is definitely in my top list of past times.

  1. Life of a Busy Bee (This blog!)

I started blogging under a different username back in 2015 but in 2018 decided that it was a goal of mine to get into actually writing on a schedule and producing content that I actually loved.

  1. Teaching

I’m currently working towards my bachelors in Early Childhood/Childhood Education with a concentration in Math and I actually love my major.  We have placements every week in an actual classroom setting and I genuinely enjoy all my work that I have to do and the placements that I am at.

  1. Podcasts

Okay, two years ago I would have never considered listening to podcasts but now I commute at least 45 minutes, 5 days a week so finding something entertaining to listen to during my car rides has been quite the challenge.  After I found podcasts, I find myself wanting to drive farther just so I can finish listening to an episode!

  1. Pharmacy

So, this is kind of random.  My first real career that I actually was convinced that I wanted to pursue was Pharmacy.  I was convinced that I wanted to be a pharmacist so I became a Pharmacy Technician at CVS (where I still work!).  I eventually decided that I didn’t really want to do this for my entire life so I switched my major but I still love my job.  There is always something new to learn in the world of pharmaceuticals and the list of drugs available to help people are always expanding.

  1. Meeting New People

I wish I could talk to every new person that I meet without it being super strange.  I love learning new people’s life stories and learning new things.  I love chatting with new people!

  1. Pictures

I LOVE having pictures printed out! There is just something about having the physical picture in your hand rather than having it on your phone.

  1. All of my friends

I am so thankful for all of the people in my life who are always there for me.  Lots of love for them this Valentine’s Day.

Let me know what you love in the comments down below.

Reads to Kick off February

Hey friends! Since I posted Reads to Kick off January last month, I thought I would include a couple more of my favorites that I have been reading.  I am all over the place with the different genres that I read but there might be something that you like or you might even want to try reading a new genre!

Hillbilly Elegy

This is a memoir about the author’s life growing up in the rust belt with his parent’s being apart of America’s White Working Class.  It discusses the many issues that families alike may face in this area; the struggle to overcome their upbringing and pursue different goals that they may have never thought were possible.  I was pretty inspired after reading this!!

The Teaching Wars

This one is another fun historical book that focuses on the history of teaching.  I really enjoyed this one as a future teacher since it gave me a look at the progress of teaching throughout the past century in America.  For anyone who is or plans to be in the teaching field, I think this is an important book to get a better sense of how much teachers have overcome and the challenges that we continue to face.

A Man Called Ove

Anddd now here is some fiction! This book made me cry and feel all the feels.  This book is all about finding love in a new way after losing a love one and you can literally feel all the happiness and sadness from all the characters by the end of the book.  Warning: You will feel a wide range of emotions after reading this book!

Keep on Reading friends and let me know of any new favorites that you have had this month.

The Power of a Thank You Note

Hey friends! Today I wanted to share how I’ve been randomly thinking about writing more Thank You Notes.

I always hesitate to write Thank You Notes but honestly they’re one of my favorite kinds of handwritten letters.  Recently, this past semester, one of my professors had us write Thank You cards to someone in our lives who has impacted our transition as transfer students.  She reminded us that someone didn’t necessarily need to give us a physical gift to write them a note.  I honestly struggled to think of someone to write the note to since I can’t remember the last time I wrote a Thank You Note to someone not regarding a physical present that they have given me.  I ended up writing a Thank You Note to my parents but then I was thinking about all the other people I could write thank you notes to: The mother whose children I babysit for who always gives me immense encouragement when it comes to pursuing my teaching goals, my friends who understand that I am constantly busy with school and almost never have time to hangout during the semester yet are still always a phone call away from me, or my boyfriend who always tells me that I can do that really difficult assignment when I am ready to give up.

In today’s society, we are almost always texting or emailing to make plans and say a quick thank you for doing that quick errand or offering words of encouragement but I think it’s important not to forget thank you notes.  For me, they show that someone else was genuinely appreciative of your time and that they shared just a little bit of their own time to offer up thanks.  Since I’ve been a little bit obsessed with Thank You Notes, I thought I would share my favorite place to go to find them!  TJ Maxx is actually the only place I go…big surprise since I can’t resist anything with a good price tag that’s cute! Hope you enjoyed this post and lets get back to writing more Thank You Notes!
