    Hey friends! Since I posted Reads to Kick off January last month, I thought I would include a couple more of my favorites that I have been reading.  I am all over the place with the different genres that I read but there might be something that you like or you might even want to try reading a new genre!     Reads to Kick off January!

    Here are some of my recently read favorites! Into the Water – Paula Hawkins This book was for sure part of the thriller genre.  It reminded me a lot of Girl on the Train and Gone Girl.  Once I started reading it, I could not put it down! Wonder – R.J. Palacio The movie for this just came out so you may have already heard of it.  This is a young adult novel but a good read for all ages.  I had to read it for my Intro to Elementary Education Class and everyone in my class loved it.  We all wanted to go see the movie together (even our…

    What I’ve Been Reading

    Last week I decided to pick up some books from my local library, I came across the memoir The Voluntourist.  I’ve always been interested in going on some type of volunteer trip and I’m really happy I happened to find this memoir.  Ken Budd, the author, tells about his experience volunteering in six different locations.  The quote “I want to live a life that matters.” appears frequently and it definitely made me think about what I want to do to make sure I help other people in some way.  I can’t wait until I get to go on a trip of my own someday!  If you’re looking to learn more about…
